George Müller -- Isobel Kuhn -- Billy Bray -- David Brainerd -- Robert Annan.
Summary: George Muller (1805-1898) provided homes and Christian education for more than 120,000 children from Bristol slums. Isobel Kuhn (1901-1957) was a vivacious and gifted young Canadian. She gave her life as a missionary to the people of China and Thailand. Billy Bray (1794-1868) was a Cornishman who lived by simple faith in his heavenly Father. He gave a cheerful and practical witness for the gospel. David Brainerd (1718-1747) was among the first to teach North American Indians the gospel of Christ. He endured great hardship, but also found encouragement before his early death at 29. Robert Annan (1834-1867) was a soldier and a stonemason in Dundee. He was an evangelist among the poor. He died saving the life of a boy who fell into Dundee harbour. These Christians are unrecorded in the world's annals of fame, but if the true principle of living Christianity is simple dependence upon God, and child-like faith, then their lives are eminent among those 'of whom the world is not worthy'. Living in different countries and at different times, they each became 'like little cildren', and God made them great.--Back cover.
