Short breezy stories with a devotional theme about life in Nepal near the foothills of the Himalayas. Great stories: The drunk elephants; the chickens that freeze to confuse an eagle from picking them off; the Rhesus monkey that thought it was the boss of the house. Favourite story: that of the villager, Sri, and his desperately ill wife. Sri dreams of a building with a strangely coloured roof where she can receive healing, so he packs her in a basket and carries her on his back down to the city. There he sees the building with the coloured roof, just as it was in his dream.
I thought the stories were really great and I recommend this book. Favourite thing about it: how she explained God's design in each thing. Do you feel you learned anything? I learnt a lot about the Himalayas and other things about nature that I really enjoyed. Favourite story: drunk elephants
I read this one aloud to my kids. We all loved it and almost felt like we'd journeyed to Nepal. Educational, inspiring and some great Biblical perspectives.
