Short breezy stories with a devotional theme about life in Nepal near the foothills of the Himalayas. Great stories: The drunk elephants; the chickens that freeze to confuse an eagle from picking them off; the Rhesus monkey that thought it was the boss of the house. Favourite story: that of the villager, Sri, and his desperately ill wife. Sri dreams of a building with a strangely coloured roof where she can receive healing, so he packs her in a basket and carries her on his back down to the city. There he sees the building with the coloured roof, just as it was in his dream.

From Eva, age 11.

I thought the stories were really great and I recommend this book.
Favourite thing about it: how she explained God's design in each thing.
Do you feel you learned anything? I learnt a lot about the Himalayas and other things about nature that I really enjoyed.
Favourite story: drunk elephants

I read this one aloud to my kids. We all loved it and almost felt like we'd journeyed to Nepal. Educational, inspiring and some great Biblical perspectives.
